Eddie Glew

Eddie began to learn his craft by first watching his dad weaving traditional English baskets. When he was in his twenties, he spent a focused two years with his dad teaching him everything he knew. He also attended numerous courses and gained a scholarship through The Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust to learn from Sally Goymer for a further two years.

Today this allows him to make anything that can be imagined in willow, from made to measure commissions to the Heritage Collection where he puts to use the highly skilled details that Sally taught him. Clients include Fortnum & Mason, Asprey’s of London, Disney, Alton Towers, Nando’s, The National Trust, BBC1, Channel 4 | Warwick Castle, Windsor Castle, and The Worshipful Company of Basketmakers.

In 2015 he was awarded the honour of Yeoman Basketmaker by the Worshipful Company of Basketmakers. He has taught at many venues in the UK and internationally and is keen to share his knowledge and skills with future generations of basketmakers.
